Kling 3.0 vs 2.6 vs 2.5 Turbo: Which Version to Pick

Kuaishou released 2.5 Turbo in September 2025, followed by Kling 2.6 in December 2025 and the 3.0 series on February 5, 2026. ImageVideoAI runs all three through an API, so you can switch versions on the same photo without a Kling membership.

VersionClip lengthResolutionExtras on this site
3.0Anywhere from 3 to 15 seconds720p, 1080p or 4KOptional native audio, first and last frame, multi-shot
2.65 or 10 seconds720p or 1080pOptional sound at 1080p, first and last frame at 720p
2.5 Turbo5 or 10 seconds720p or 1080pThe cheapest Kling option, first and last frame at 1080p

Start on the flagship when the clip is the final deliverable: a product reveal, a short scene with dialogue, or a shot that has to hold up on a large screen. Drop to 2.6 when you need 1080p but not the extra length or multi-shot planning. Use 2.5 Turbo to test an idea first, since a 720p Turbo clip costs less than half of a 720p flagship clip.

What Kling Is Good At

Kling's strengths on this page come from its feature set rather than any ranking. These are the reasons to choose it over the other four model families here:

  • Multi-shot scenes. The flagship can plan several shots inside one generation, so a prompt can move from a wide shot to a close-up without stitching clips together.
  • Flexible length. Any duration from 3 to 15 seconds, which suits a quick loop as well as a longer beat.
  • Native 4K. The flagship renders 4K directly instead of enlarging a smaller file.
  • Sound when you want it. Native audio is a switch on the flagship and on 2.6 at 1080p, so silent clips stay cheaper.
  • First and last frame. Give Kling a starting image and an ending image, and it fills in the movement between them. All three versions take one, though 2.6 does it only at 720p and 2.5 Turbo only at 1080p.

Is Kling Motion Control Available Here?

No. Kling motion control is a separate tool in Kuaishou's own app, where a reference video of a person moving drives the animation. It isn't part of the Kling lineup on ImageVideoAI, and neither are Kling O1, Omni or 3.0 Turbo. On this site, motion comes from your written prompt, and you can also pin the first and last frames.

Kling AI Pricing on ImageVideoAI, Per Clip

Every Kling generation has a fixed credit price, and the tool shows the exact number before you press the button. If a render fails, the credits return to your balance on their own.

A free account opens with 30 credits once, to spend within 30 days, then adds 5 a day that don't build up, with renders up to 720p and a watermark. On Kling, that opening balance buys one 720p 2.5 Turbo clip at 19 credits; a 42-credit flagship clip is more than a free account can hold at once. For 1080p, 4K, clean downloads and commercial use, the Starter plan's 500 monthly credits ($9.99) work out to about 11 Kling 3.0 clips at 720p. Monthly, yearly and one-off options are all listed under plans and credits, along with what each tier unlocks.

Kling Prompt Tips, With Three Examples

Kling reads a prompt best when the action comes first and the style comes last. A few habits help:

  1. Name one main action per few seconds. A 5-second clip has room for a turn and a smile, not a whole routine.
  2. Describe the camera separately. Push-in, orbit, handheld follow, static tripod: say which one, after the action.
  3. Split multi-shot prompts into numbered shots. Give each shot its own framing so the cut lands where you expect.
  4. Write sound as things you would hear. When audio is on, list concrete noises such as footsteps, rain or a line of speech.
  5. Match the photo. If the image shows a seated person, don't ask them to sprint; start from the pose you uploaded.

Three prompts that play to Kling's strengths:

Shot 1: close-up of a barista's hands pouring milk into a latte, steam rising. Shot 2: medium shot as she slides the cup across the counter and smiles. Quiet café chatter and a spoon tapping a saucer.
The red fox from the photo trots through fresh snow toward the lens, slow dolly backward at a low angle, its breath visible in the cold air, soft overcast light.
First frame: a paper lantern resting on a wooden table. Last frame: the same lantern glowing and floating above it. The lantern lifts slowly as warm light spreads across the room.

Kling vs Veo vs Seedance

All three model families accept a photo and a prompt here, and the image to video AI tool on our home page lets you swap between them on a single upload. They differ on length, resolution and the lowest price you can pay for a clip.

Google's Veo suits short, single shots where you want to set both the opening and closing frame, and its Lite tier is the entry point at 65 credits for an 8-second 720p clip. Our Veo 3.1 AI video generator lays out each of Google's tiers side by side.

ByteDance's Seedance is the pick for longer takes: its 2.5 version runs up to 30 seconds with native audio at 480p or 720p, while 2.0 reaches 4K. Five Seedance versions are compared on our Seedance AI video generator, including the cheap 1.0 Pro Fast.

Kling sits between them: longer than Veo, shorter than Seedance 2.5, and the only one of the three where this site lists multi-shot generation. When a scene needs a cut inside one clip, that is the deciding factor.

Kling FAQ

Is Kling AI free on ImageVideoAI?

Partly. Creating an account gives you 30 credits once and 5 more every day, and free accounts may select every Kling version at up to 720p with a watermark. In practice the free balance stretches to a single Turbo test at 19 credits, while the flagship at 42 stays out of reach until you add credits. Higher resolutions, watermark-free files and commercial use require a paid plan or a credit pack.

Kling AI pricing 2026: what does one clip cost here?

Credits per clip run from 19 for a 5-second 2.5 Turbo clip at 720p to 210 for a 5-second flagship clip in 4K. These are ImageVideoAI credits, separate from the credits sold in Kuaishou's own Kling app, and the two systems don't convert. The entry Starter plan is $9.99 monthly with 500 credits.

Can I use Kling AI image to video with any photo?

You can upload a JPG, PNG or WebP image of up to 10 MB. Portraits, products, pets and landscapes all work as starting frames. Adult or explicit content isn't supported, and you can't use someone else's photo for an intimate video unless that person has clearly agreed.

Is this the official Kling app?

No. ImageVideoAI is an independent site that runs Kuaishou's Kling models through an API, alongside Veo, Seedance, Hailuo and Wan. You pay per clip in ImageVideoAI credits rather than buying a Kling membership. Features that only exist in Kuaishou's own app, such as motion control, aren't available here.

Which Kling version should I start with?

Begin with 2.5 Turbo at 720p while you shape the prompt, because it costs 19 credits a clip. Once the motion looks right, render the keeper on Kling 3.0, adding 1080p, sound or 4K as the project needs. Choose 2.6 when you want 1080p without paying for flagship features.

Does Kling add sound to the video?

Yes, on Kling 3.0 and on Kling 2.6 at 1080p, if you switch native audio on. A 5-second 1080p clip with sound costs 84 credits on 3.0 or 70 on 2.6, against 42 for a silent 720p flagship clip. Describe what should be heard in the prompt, such as footsteps, wind or a short spoken line. Kling 2.5 Turbo has no sound option.
