A Hailuo prompt works best as a short description of physical movement plus one camera instruction. Use these rules as a quick guide:

  1. Start from what the photo shows. Name the subject the way it appears, such as "the girl in the yellow raincoat", so the model keeps the right person in focus.
  2. Describe forces, not feelings. Wind pulling at a scarf, water splashing up from a puddle, a jacket swinging as someone turns: physical cues give clearer motion than "dramatic" or "epic".
  3. Give the camera one job. Tracking alongside, slow orbit, or locked off. Stacking three moves into a 6-second clip tends to blur the intent.
  4. Size the action to the length. One gesture fits 6 seconds; a 10- or 15-second clip can hold two beats, such as a turn followed by a walk toward the lens.

You can try it for free with an account, on a small budget. New accounts get 30 credits once plus 5 a day, which pays for one watermarked H3 clip at 720p, or two at 480p, before you need more credits. The older 2.3 models start at 768p, and free accounts may use that setting even though other models stop at 720p. Paid plans and credit packs remove the watermark and open 1080p and 2K.

Is there a Hailuo AI video prompt guide?

Yes, the prompt section above is a short one. The core rules: describe physical motion, give the camera a single instruction, match the amount of action to the clip length, and on H3 use a closing frame instead of describing the ending. The three example prompts show that pattern for a sports shot, a portrait and a first and last frame transition.

Is this the official Hailuo app?

No. MiniMax runs its own Hailuo app with separate subscriptions and credits. ImageVideoAI is an independent site that accesses H3, 2.3 and 2.3 Fast through an API, next to Kling, Veo, Seedance and Wan, and charges in its own credits. Some MiniMax options, such as H3 Max, aren't offered here.
