What the Vidu AI Video Generator Does
The Vidu AI video generator is built by ShengShu Technology around its own model family. If you searched for Vidu AI or Vidu Studio, this section describes the web app at vidu.com. As of October 2026 the current generation is Vidu Q3, offered in four variants: Q3-pro, Q3-turbo, Q3-pro-fast and Q3-mix, the last one used for reference-based video.
According to Vidu's API documentation, Q3 supports text to video, image to video and start-to-end frame video. Its main specs:
- clip length anywhere from 1 to 16 seconds;
- 540p, 720p or 1080p output, with 720p as the default (Q3-pro-fast skips 540p);
- audio on by default, so clips come with dialogue and sound effects;
- storyboard generation on Q3-pro.
Around the model, Vidu adds Reference to Video for keeping several subjects consistent, Lip Sync, Video Extend, an agent called Vidu Claw, an off-peak mode, and a large set of templates. Its site describes the product as a way to create videos from text, images and references, aimed at marketing, social content and animation.
Vidu AI Pricing as of October 2026
Vidu's web subscription prices could not be confirmed for this page. The pricing page loads its plans in the browser and blocks automated reads, and an archived copy from July 2026 shows only a loading message. Third-party summaries exist but have not been verified, so they are left out here.
What Vidu does publish is its developer API rate, where one credit costs half a cent:

Off-peak generation costs roughly half. These are API prices for developers, so they do not tell you what a web subscriber pays per clip; for that, check Vidu AI pricing inside the app.
Two more details from Vidu's own FAQ and pages: new users receive trial credits on registration and more for daily logins, with amounts not confirmed; subscription credits last 30 days, while purchased and promotional credits last two years. The app offers downloads with and without a watermark, depending on the account, but the free-tier rule was not confirmed.
Hug and Kiss Videos Without Vidu Templates
Vidu also runs dedicated pages for AI hug, kiss and dance videos. Its AI Hug page works from a single image and says no prompt is needed, and its FAQ says the hug effect is free for all users. Its AI Kissing page asks for consented photos and permission from the people shown, which is a standard worth keeping.

Put simply, Vidu offers more tools around a single model family, and its API rates are low. When to Stay With Vidu
Vidu is the better pick if you rely on its template library, need lip sync or video extend, want multi-subject reference video, or like off-peak generation for cheaper renders. Developers already on its API also have little reason to move, given the Q3-turbo rate.
