The Best Pika Alternative

Pika now sells Seedance, Wan, MiniMax and Grok models beside its own. A Pika alternative is worth it if you want Kling and Veo, a free clip every day, or commercial use on the cheapest plan; on some shared models, Pika costs less.

What the Pika AI Video Generator Offers Now

Pika's flagship is Pika 2.5, a model Pika says is tuned for crisp 1080p motion. Next to it, the site lists Seedance 2.5, MiniMax H3, Wan 3.0, Google Omni Flash, Grok Imagine 1.5 and Pikaframes. If you remember the Pika Labs AI video generator as a single-model app, that has changed: Pika is now a multi-model platform, much like ImageVideoAI.

Pika 2.5 on its own, as described on Pika's app page:

  • Inputs: one picture in Omni mode, or a sequence of 2 to 5 keyframes in Frames mode.
  • Resolution: 720p or 1080p, except that a five-keyframe sequence renders at 720p only.
  • Length: 5 seconds from a prompt alone, 5 or 10 seconds with a reference image, and 1 to 5 seconds per keyframe transition, stretching to 10 when there are exactly two frames. Pika's Video Studio advertises multi-shot videos of up to 30 seconds.
  • Audio: Pika 2.5 clips come back silent. Sound is added afterward with Pika Soundtrack or SFX.
  • Apps: Pikaframes, Color Grade, Product Ad, Swap Anything, Extend Video and Motion Transfer.

Credit packs cost $1 per 60 credits, starting at $25 for 1,500. Pika's table marks the Free plan as watermark-free, so the catch on Free is the empty balance rather than a logo on the video. On Starter, a 5-second Wan 3.0 clip at 720p takes 33 credits, about $0.37 (or $0.29 billed yearly), while Seedance 2.5 needs 122 credits for the same 5 seconds at 720p, about $1.36. Pika's pricing page doesn't show what a Pika 2.5 clip costs under the current credit system, and its older FAQ figures no longer match the plans, so we leave that number out.

Pika vs ImageVideoAI on the Models Both Sell

Two models appear on both sites with a published price. On both, Pika is cheaper, and by a wide margin:

720p clip, 5 secondsPika, Starter planImageVideoAI, Starter plan
Wan 3.033 credits, about $0.3759 credits, about $1.18
Seedance 2.5122 credits, about $1.36183 credits, about $3.66
MiniMax H3Not in Pika's published credit table30 credits, about $0.60

Our Wan 3.0 clip costs about three times Pika's, and our Seedance 2.5 clip about 2.7 times. If those two models are all you use, Pika is the better buy as of October 2026, and we would rather say so than hide it.

Two model families we didn't find on Pika's list, Kling and Veo, are the main reason to look here. Our Veo 3.1 AI video generator rundown takes Google's Lite, Fast and Quality tiers one at a time.

The case for ImageVideoAI rests on what Pika doesn't list or doesn't include:

  • Kling and Veo. Kling 3.0 brings 4K and multi-shot clips with optional sound, and Veo 3.1 never renders without audio. See our Kling AI video generator guide for every Kling version and its price.
  • Commercial use from the first paid tier. Pika's Starter plan has no commercial license; every ImageVideoAI plan and credit pack includes one, and it stays with videos you made while paid.
  • A free clip without buying anything. Visitors can render one 480p clip daily before signing up; registering then adds 30 credits once, which pays for a few of our cheapest clips with no card on file, plus 5 a day that don't stack. Pika's Free plan has no credits until you buy a pack.
  • Sound from the model. Pika 2.5 renders silent. Here, audio comes back from Wan 3.0, Seedance 2.0 or 2.5, H3 and Veo, and from Kling 3.0 once you switch sound on.

When Pika Is the Better Pick

Stay with Pika in these situations:

  • You mainly use Wan 3.0 or Seedance 2.5. Pika's prices on both are well below ours.
  • You want keyframe sequences. Frames mode takes up to five keyframes, and Pikaframes builds on them. Here you get a first and a last frame only.
  • You use Pika's apps. Motion Transfer, Swap Anything, Color Grade, Extend Video and Product Ad have no counterpart on ImageVideoAI, which only generates new clips.
  • You want Grok Imagine or Google Omni Flash. We don't run either of those.
  • You prefer no watermark without a subscription. Pika's packs on the Free plan give watermark-free downloads; on ImageVideoAI, free-account videos are watermarked until you buy a plan or pack.

Everything we charge, from monthly plans to one-time packs, is on the pricing page.

Pika Alternative FAQ

Pika Labs pricing 2026: how much does Pika cost?

As of October 2026, Pika's Free plan is $0 with no monthly credits, Starter is $10 a month ($8 yearly) for 900 credits, Creator is $35 ($28 yearly) for 3,150 credits with a commercial license, and Fancy runs from $95 to $880. Credit packs cost $1 per 60 credits. A 720p Wan 3.0 clip on Starter is about $0.37.

Pika AI video generator features: what can Pika 2.5 do?

Pika 2.5 animates one picture or a sequence of 2 to 5 keyframes, renders at 720p or 1080p, and makes clips of 5 or 10 seconds, with Video Studio advertising multi-shot videos up to 30 seconds. Its renders are silent, so sound comes from Pika Soundtrack or SFX. Apps such as Swap Anything and Motion Transfer sit alongside it.

Is Pika free, and does it add a watermark?

The Free plan costs nothing but includes 0 credits a month, so you need to buy a credit pack before generating. Pika's pricing table marks Free as having no watermark. ImageVideoAI works the other way round: you can make clips without paying, but free videos carry a watermark until you have a plan or credit pack.

Is Pika Art the same as Pika?

Yes. Pika's website lives at pika.art, which is why many people search for Pika Art when they mean Pika's video app. Prices and models on this page come from that site as of October 2026. ImageVideoAI is a separate site with no ties to Pika and doesn't offer Pika 2.5 or Pikaframes.

What is the best Pika Labs alternative for clips with sound?

On ImageVideoAI, MiniMax H3 is the lowest-priced option with sound, at 30 credits for a 5-second 720p clip and up to 15 seconds per clip. Veo 3.1 puts audio on every clip and reaches 4K on its upper tiers, and Kling 3.0 adds sound when you switch it on. Pika 2.5 itself renders without audio.
